How to Achieve GREATNESS!

I wear a lot of hats: Mom, wife, motivational speaker, author, and wannabe tennis player – to name a few. And it was the method I used to help me improve my tennis game that helps me whenever I’m trying to get really good at anything.

Children learn by observing the behaviors of their parents – and then imitating that behavior. Interestingly, adults can learn in much the say way.  It’s called modeling.  I realized this a long time ago when I repeatedly watched a tennis training video promising to help me improve my game.  I just sat and WATCHED a great tennis player hit each ball perfectly, over and over and over again.  I watched each shot from many different angles. I watched sometimes for an hour at a time, many times per week, for several weeks.  And, just as promised, my tennis game improved.

Question: Who are you “watching?” Who are your role models? Who are you learning from – consciously or unconsciously? Whether it’s a sport, leadership, communication or parenting – find an expert and observe their behavior – a lot!

Now, gotta run.  There’s a tennis racket calling my name.
